So beginning of this book was fine. Over the top edge, I like that shit, it rolls that back pretty quickly but doesn't really help much. For most of the book, MC is under 12. That makes a lot of the character interactions hilarious in a bad way, but whatever its alright, average book rating so far. Then we get to the last quarter of the book and things go down hill fast. (view spoiler)[There are two rapes in this book. The second one is bad, it's uncomfortable. It and the events that followed felt too much. The first was worse however. Not because it was more graphic, or emotional, but because it didn't matter in the author's eyes. right before she begins her test to become a journeyman, it mentions, offhandedly, that one of her friends attempted to force himself on her, after turning down his advances. This seems to do no more than make their continued friendship a bit awkward! That encounter was described in a total of two paragraphs, and then never comes up again.
