I do own Grisham books, but only because family members keep buying them for me on birthday's and xmas's. I smile politely and thank them, wishing they would include the receipt. I have read this, and i don't recommend it unless you are 10 years old and want to start reading adult fiction. Dull, dull, dull. How this man is a best-selling writer is reflection of today's society's IQ.

Chris I find people like "Lois" annoying. "I do own Grisham books, but only because family members keep buying them for me on birthday's and xmas's." Then she follows with "How this man is a best-selling writer is reflection of today's society's IQ"...

First off, Lois, before you criticize others, learn to spell "Societies" correctly. Second, if you don't like when family members buy you books, then try not reading them. Before you begin complaining about SOCIETIES IQ, take a look at whatever is left of your own and realize you do not HAVE to read everything your family member(s) buy you. Try thinking of that before you post inflammatory comments about other peoples work on the internet. Thank you. :-)

Mike Olind I enjoyed , "The Bleachers". It is apparent that you have no concept of what playing a team sport requires. Those of us that have sweated and worked together to pursue a joint goal understand what John Grisham is writing about in this novel. The character that you develop as a player and the relationships you make working for a common goal, overcoming similar challenges, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, stays with you the rest of your life. Then when life throws you a curve you stand tall and attack the challenge with the same character that you displayed on the playing field. Win, Loose or Draw, you learn how to play the game of life and finish with dignity and pride. As in life you leave it all on the field, hopefully you have performed to the best of your ability. With a little bit of luck and a whole lot of hard work you can reach your goal. Sometimes it takes a person like Coach Rake to make you go the extra distance it takes to be a winner, Obviously, your not a winner and neither was your review of this fine novel.

Joshua The book is a discussion of mentorship and camaraderie. No need to insult society at large if it didn't make you think.

Michael Smallwood Definitely a book for men who played for a legendary coach!

John Rhody Sounds like Lois is on the bitter bus with Cameron!!!

Aleisha This is definitely not his best book. I would read some of his top sellers such as A Time to Kill, The Firm, The Reckoning, or literally any of his books that have been made into movies.
