really liked it
bookshelves: 4-star, ab, historical-fiction, lgbt-side-character, mystery, read-in-2019, reviewed, young-adult

If I compare this to the previous book, I have to say I liked the first book a bit more than this one. But that doesn't mean this one was bad at all, because I enjoyed it a lot. I liked the change of setting, as it set the perfect atmosphere for the story. The characters felt like the same characters from the first book, but with a bit more development. I really like how the events of the first book really affected Audrey Rose, and how you could see her dealing with it.

The new characters introduced were great, and the mystery kept me guessing. I'm not sure how I feel about the reveal, but I did like how certain things were set up. It definitely wasn't easy to guess for me.

I'm very curious to see what the next book will be like. I really enjoy how Thomas and Audrey Rose go to a new setting in each book. I liked the development of their relationship in this one a lot too, though I hope it doesn't mean the author throws in unnecessary drama to fill up the next two books.
