I would rate this 4 stars.
With a cleverly built science fiction spin, what appears to be a blue collar/white collar meet cute becomes much more when Pierre is vulnerable and Dar switches the power dynamics to make this intriguing story soar. The writing style is different and quirky, always the way to my heart. Kudos to the author for making me care about these two people in such a truncated amount of time. Rather than focusing on sex, this focuses on a heartfelt connection of equals. If the connection is based on truth, people being who they really are without artifice, I believe that can happen in a short amount of time. I enjoyed this short story about people who are a good match, are lucky the timing is right, and save each other.
