Seven days. Six teenagers. One deadly secret. Who will escape...
It was supposed to be the perfect holiday: a week-long trip for six teenage friends on a remote tropical island. But when their guide dies of a stroke leaving them stranded, the trip of a lifetime turns into a nightmare. Because someone on this island knows each of the group's worst fears. And one by one, they're becoming a reality.
I enjoyed this suspense thriller young adult novel. I haven't read any of this author's previous books but have seen that they receive in general positive reviews. I think this would be a great introduction to the thriller genre for young adults: it definitely had suspense and dramatic events, but it was not gory and violent. Adult readers who like their thrillers 'clean' would also likely appreciate this one. I thought the character's fears and emotions were written well, particularly in the context of 17 year olds. I would have liked to have had all the character's perspectives rather than alternating between just two of them. I personally saw the end coming but I read loads of thrillers so I don't think all readers will be able to predict it.
Overall: an enjoyable young adult thriller novel that is easy to read and fairly 'clean' despite all the dark drama.
