Cute, but not entirely successful. I enjoyed the peek within the world of dental school, and Eddings does a wonderful job capturing the nuances of anxiety and grief that these characters experience; the description of Harper's anxiety attack in particular is so well done and it felt realistic. Unfortunately, the romance did not fully work for me, as it felt like these two were into each other a little too quickly with Harper then flip-flopping between wanting to get closer to Dan and pushing him away because he was a distraction from her education, which made it tough for me to invest in them as a couple. I also didn't completely understand Harper keeping her anxiety hidden from her closest friends but then allowing them to put her in an uncomfortable position that ended up triggering an anticipated attack. I found Harper frustrating in her initial refusal to accept help during the final act, and Dan was sweet yet somewhat bland. Despite my issues with this book, I will most likely pick up the next in the series as it focuses on Lizzie, who is a fun secondary character here.
