Sociopath

I have doubts about this author’s claims of expertise. The Chicago School, where she claims to have gotten her PhD, does not have PhD programs in clinical psychology. The term “sociopath” is not used by credible academic psychologists. Most (if not all) credible institutions publish doctoral dissertations, and hers is nowhere to be found.

I’m in the field, and I’ve never used this term. Out of all the years working, I met one patient I suspected was a “sociopath.” They are much more rare than this memoir and listicles have you believe.

She explains why she uses the term sociopath instead of antisocial. And it’s been verified she got her PhD in clinical psych- the school was just since bought out and merged with the new school in LA
At least she's not practicing psychotherapy anymore, according to her website. It's terrifying to me to think of her practicing. I can see (maybe) providing a very stale, structured, purely intellectualized and time-limited kind of therapy, but true in-depth psychotherapy, that requires registering the patient on a deeply emotional and unconscious level? Also, exposing herself to the public in this particular way must be very confusing and upsetting for any former patients of hers (if she ever truly practiced; doctorate in clinical psychology does not necessarily equal licensed to practice therapy).
