This book broke me. An emotional roller coaster of emotions. Jennifer Hartmann knows how to tear you apart only to put you back together at the very end. In no way was I expecting this book to be the way it was. I went into it thinking it was a young adult romance book but it was not at all. The only young adult romance was the fact the characters were young and in love but the storyline is so so heavy. I feel like I was put through the wringer reading this, as if it was unreal and a dream. Jennifer has such a special writing style. I absolutely sobbed to many many scenes but I also found such a deep connection to the characters and what they went through. I felt heartbroken for all they had to endure. I never expected it to take the turn that it did but it made this book super interesting and kept me hooked. The romance is beautiful and heartbreaking. I highly recommend but check the trigger warnings before starting and take them seriously (unlike me).
