it was amazing

Sheriff Bet Rivers knows the impending winter storm will be a true test of her ability to keep the residents of Collier safe.

She’s got quite a legacy since there’s been a Rivers in the sheriff’s seat tracing back to the town’s founding. When she gets called to the scene of an accident, her instincts tell her there’s more than meets the eye.

A Cold, Cold World serves up a fast-paced mystery that forces the newly-minted sheriff to battle not only Mother Nature, but puts her detective skills to the test. Author Elena Taylor creates a solid lead character with the second installment of the series.

The draw of a small town is evident, especially the sense of community, in interactions between the characters. While tracking down clues, Bet displays still-new grief after her father’s unexpected death.

A Cold, Cold World provides a chilling adventure full of twists and turns, especially for those of us stuck in the summer heat. ~ Amy for Novels Alive
