Autobiography of a Face

4.5/5. in love with grealy’s voice; at once gregarious, kind, intelligent, unpretentious, thoughtful. always haunting to carry the knowledge of an author’s very untimely death (she was only 8 years older than i am now!) while reading a book in which they are so vital and present, and parts of this - grealy’s casual recounting of her teenage codeine addiction, the paragraph where she contemplates being an age she never actually reached - really made that hit home for me. but very very good on its own terms also
