When I chose The Girls at the Kingfisher Club by award-winning author Genevieve Valentine, I didn’t realize that it is a reimagining of the old Brothers Grimm tale, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, brought forward to the Roaring Twenties. Set in Manhattan during Prohibition, when secret underground clubs thrived despite almost constant raids, the story is made modern and much more relevant. If you like novels about the Jazz Age, family drama, and/or the age-old story of how teens will find a way to have fun no matter how strict their parents might be then read the rest of my review at http://popcornreads.com/?p=7423.
