This is a great idea; I always find it fascinating to follow characters along streets I've visited or discovering a place from a book I've read. It was great to wander around Barcelona after reading Carlos Ruiz Zafón's La sombra del viento

A few years ago before visiting Amsterdam I read Amsterdam with a selection of extracts about the city. However I found reading The Miniaturist much more satisfying.
