Do You Believe In God?

Ray Evans • February 1, 2020
One of the most dangerous Biblical myths, lies and misconceptions is that all you have to do is "believe" to be saved.  Really?

If that were true, wouldn't Satan and his minions be saved?

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (James 2:19)

"Salvation" is not about believing IN God...it's about BELIEVING God.  It may seem a subtle difference, but the difference between believing IN something and BELIEVING something is huge.  In this case, it's the difference between life and death.

"Believing" in God means nothing if your life doesn't reflect your belief.  Do you lie?  Cheat on your taxes?  Take office supplies home from work?  Jesus said  breaking the least of the commandments is the same as breaking them all.

Irrespective of what Dennis Prager says, God doesn't grade on the curve...sin is sin; and the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

In our eyes, murder is worse than stealing a pencil, but in God's eyes, both are sins; and sin will keep you separated from God...now and forever.  If you've ever wondered why your prayers aren't answered, it could be unrepentant sin in your life.

If you want to be separated from God, just keep lying, cheating and stealing.

Preachers love to say all your sins past present and future are forgiven...it fills the pews and collection plate, but it's a lie from the depths of hell.  When you repent, God wipes the slate clean; but if you sin after that, you will need to repent again.  If you continue to sin, you must question whether the love of God is within you.

A child of God who has been reborn Spiritually, will be quickly convicted of sin and repent...even a child of God who continues to sin willfully will eventually be given over to a reprobate mind...all that will remain will be a fearful looking forward to judgment.  "For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins," (Hebrews 10:26)

Be careful whom you choose to follow.  You have the "freewill" to believe anything you want; but if you choose to believe a lie, don't be surprised when you reach the pearly gates and hear the most sorrowful words ever spoken: "Depart from me, ye that work iniquity, I never knew you."

Until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom

This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
