Haliburton Forest
Sawmill
The Haliburton Forest Sawmill is the original facility in The Haliburton Forest Group. It was originally built in 2008 and was expanded in 2019 with the installation of a new resaw. It is a mid-sized hardwood sawmill that produces approximately 25,000 fbm per day. Its primary species is Hard maple, but we also manufacture lumber from any of the hardwood species that grow in the 100,000 acres that we own and manage at Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Ltd.

Huntsville Forest
Products
Huntsville Forest Products joined The Haliburton Forest Group in late-2020. This historic sawmill was built in the1970s by the same company that once owned the lands that now comprise Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Ltd. After many years of doing business together, we pursued the opportunity to acquire this sawmill from Rayonier Advanced Materials (formerly known as Tembec). Huntsville Forest Products produces approximately 40,000 fbm per day of hardwood lumber.

Almaguin Forest Products
Almaguin Forest Products joined The Haliburton Forest Group in early-2019. After many years of doing business with the Micallef Family, we pursued the opportunity to take over ownership and management of this successful hardwood lumber business. It was expanded in 2022 through the installation of a new resaw. Almaguin Forest Products produces approximately 25,000 fbm per day of hardwood lumber.

Neuman Forest
Products
Neuman Forest Products joined The Haliburton Forest Group in late-2022. Located on the shores of the Madawaska River, the facility has been in the lumber business since 1950, under the ownership and management of the Neuman Family. It traditionally processes a mix of hardwoods and pine, but has re-focused almost entirely on hardwood. While we have some plans to upgrade and expand the facility, Neuman Forest Products produces approximately 20,000 fbm per day.

Murray Bros. Lumber Company
Murray Bros. Lumber Company joined The Haliburton Forest Group in mid-2024 when a partnership was formed between the Murray Family and Haliburton Forest. Located on the eastern border of Algonquin Park in Madawaska, the company has been operating since 1902. It processes a mix of hardwoods and softwoods that are grown in central Ontario and has a wide range of value-added manufacturing capacity, including kilns and planers.
