When members of the Monroe Garden Club and their guests arrived at Bayou DeSiard Country Club on a recent fall morning, there was no doubt as to what their November gathering would concern. Flanking the twin front doors at the Club’s main entrance were a pair of perfectly lovely “arrangements”. Each began with a tall urn overflowing with lush green ferns. Snuggled beneath were collections of multi-colored gourds in a variety of sizes. Centering each of the entry doors were identical straw baskets overflowing with seasonal flowers and greenery. Bright yellow sunflowers and daisies flirted with orange tea roses. The baskets offered the perfect “Welcome!” to those who entered.
