Chainsaw

The Chainsaw is one of the alternate limited-use Weapons in DOOM. Unlike other weapons and previous incarnations of the chainsaw in Doom games, this chainsaw can be used to instantly kill an enemy provided enough fuel is stored.

The Chainsaw has three fuel bars which can be found during missions. Depending on the enemy you attack, the Chainsaw will use up the amount of fuel proportionate to the enemy attacked. 1 bar will be used in killing a small enemy like an Imp or The Possessed. 2 bars are needed to kill moderately tough enemies, and 3 bars are needed to defeat large and imposing enemies.

Note that bosses cannot be killed by Chainsaws.
