Easy to build* very solid Anonymous reviewerEasy to assemble but would help to list the wooden parts as well. A power screwdriver is a must with 4 mm hex (buy a quality one online ~£25). IKEA and others sell them, don't know why they don't recommend one. If a screw sticks take it out try another or turn it round. Very solid. 200 cm long, standard mattress 190 cm.5

Highly uncomfortable ladderAnonymous reviewerThis bunk bed has a highly uncomfortable ladder, and you only realise this once you use it. Most other brands have flat rungs, not this one, Mydal has vertical rungs which cut into your foot.
Also, think very carefully on which side you want your ladder. We accidentally built it on the wrong side and it was not very straightforward to change it, because you need to remove slats to get some of the screws out, and you can't remove the slats without causing damage, because you hammer the slats in place. We had to cut one corner on two slats to get the trapped screws out, as we didn't want to remove the slats altogether, because, once you do that, there's no way to put them back neatly.
The bed looks quite sturdy, but all in all, for the reasons mentioned above, would not recommend it.2

it’s sturdy and safe and reliable HOWEVER! The website and the tag on the actual bed state it is 90x200 (cm) but since buying the bed for a small room it actually measures once up and complete is actually 96x206(cm) which makes a huge difference in a small room when space is tight. Dimensions are the first thing you check so it becomes a massive struggle when all of a sudden the measurements aren’t actually right! That’s the main reason for 4 stars instead of 5. IKEA need to re measure and update the dimensions.4

Only took me an hour. They are a European single mattress size so the single mattresses I already have are too short. Bear this in mind.5
