Hyperoptic broadband deals

Looking for cheap broadband? Compare prices from top providers and get a great deal

If you’re looking for a reliable and affordable broadband deal, Hyperoptic is a great place to start. Our experts thoroughly researched Hyperoptic so we can pass our knowledge on to you to help you find the perfect deal from this provider.

We also surveyed over 2,000* broadband customers in the UK to better understand the country’s broadband habits and opinions. We’ve included some of our findings here to further help you on your search for a broadband provider.

Why choose Hyperoptic

Our current pick for the best overall broadband provider is Hyperoptic, which has proven its worth as a reliable and customer-focused brand. Here are some of the key reasons why you should consider partnering with Hyperoptic broadband.

  1. No mid-contract price hikes
  2. Symmetrical speeds on almost every deal
  3. Options include 24-month, 12-month or monthly rolling broadband contracts

Hyperoptic availability in my area

The best way to see if Hyperoptic broadband is available in your area is to use our comparison journey. To discover if you can partner with the company, simply enter your postcode and filter your search by provider.

Hyperoptic broadband is primarily available in London, but it can also be found in other cities, including Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. Currently, the Hyperoptic network reaches more than 1.73 million homes[1]. Hyperoptic has also secured funding of £150m to connect more households.

The provider claims that if enough people register interest with Hyperoptic, it will offer connectivity in the future. If you register your interest, you will receive an exclusive discount if the service goes live.

Types of Hyperoptic broadband packages

Hyperoptic takes a no-frills approach to its broadband packages. However, the company doesn’t offer broadband and TV services, which may not appeal to some customers.

Nevertheless, Hyperoptic’s broadband and phone and broadband-only deals do include some key advantages that not every broadband provider offers.

  • Fastest connection type: Hyperoptic broadband exclusively uses full fibre broadband, which is the fastest connection in the UK
  • Symmetrical speeds: every Hyperoptic broadband deal over 150Mbps offers symmetrical speeds, which means upload and download speeds are identical
  • Unlimited data: no data caps mean you can browse, stream and game as much as you want without incurring any additional fees
  • Business broadband: Hyperoptic offers several business broadband deals for those in eligible areas

Hyperoptic broadband speeds

Hyperoptic offers four broadband speeds across all of its contract lengths. These speeds include 50Mbps, 150Mbs, 500Mbps and 1,000Mbps, making it suitable for various types of households.

Did you know?

Our survey respondents ran a Hyperoptic speed test, and 64 per cent felt their actual broadband speed matched the speed advertised in their deal. While it’s normal for your broadband speed to vary at different times of day, you should report consistent slowdowns to your provider.

Thankfully, Hyperoptic guarantees a minimum download speed from the moment your broadband service is activated. If you experience slow speeds for three consecutive days that Hyperoptic cannot resolve, the company will allow you to terminate your contract free of charge.

Special offers and discounts

When switching broadband providers, you will want to look for new customer incentives or special offers. Here are some Hyperoptic offers, including discounts.

  • Social tariff: Hyperoptic’s social tariff broadband is more affordable than its other packages, and you may be eligible if you currently receive benefits from the government
  • Hyperoptic student discount contracts: Hyperoptic’s monthly rolling contracts are ideal for students, renters or people frequently on the move
  • Price match guarantee: Hyperoptic offers a price match guarantee if you find the same deal for a cheaper price from another provider

Switching to Hyperoptic

Switching to Hyperoptic broadband is incredibly easy and involves just a few simple steps.

  1. Inform your current provider that you no longer wish to continue with your contract
  2. Sign up for your desired Hyperoptic package at the length that best suits your needs
  3. Book a convenient installation slot or set up your new wifi hub yourself
  4. Pay a £19 activation fee for the 12-month and 24-month contracts, or pay a £29 or £39 fee for the monthly rolling deals

Hyperoptic wifi equipment

All Hyperoptic deals come with a Hyperhub router for no additional cost. The model of the Hyperhub router will depend on your deal. For busier households, we recommend choosing the 5Ghz over the 2.4GHz band model, as more bands reduce congestion and allow for faster speeds.

You can add Hyperoptic Total Wifi® to your Hyperoptic broadband deal at any time, which will extend your wifi coverage to more areas of your home. This service includes Hyperoptic Minihubs, which you can place around the house to help increase your signal.
