Do all states get an opportunity to showcase their cultural tableaux?
In august 2024, the Defense Ministry was asked in the lok sabha whether it is true that all the states are not given an opportunity to present their unique cultural tableaux in the Republic Day parade on January 26? In response to this question, the government said that the government has made a special plan to ensure that the tableau of every state is seen in the Republic Day parade. Under this scheme, every state and union territory will definitely get a chance to show its tableau in the parade within three years.
For this, a program has been prepared for these three years 2024, 2025 and 2026. In this, it has been decided which state will display its tableau in which year. This program has been prepared by talking to all the states and union territories. All the states and union territories of the country have been divided into 6 zones. It is decided for each zone how many tableaux from that zone will participate in the parade. This has been done so that every year all the zones are represented in the parade. In this way, all the states of every zone will get a chance to show their tableau within three years.

Actually, the schools that want to participate in the parade send their performance proposals. Then a committee of experts watches these performances. This committee has experts in fields like dance, music and choreography. These experts watch the performance of all the schools carefully and then decide which schools will participate in the parade.
