Hello my name is***** can assist you. Could you send a photo of your meter so I can see what you are working with? Thank you
OK What do you want to test on the timer? I am sending a photo back with info on it
ok so first thing we always start with if you are getting the proper voltage from the receptacle. The easiest way to test this is remove the cover where the cord is attached and measure the voltage from first both out side terminals, you should get 240 volts, next you measure each outside terminal to the middle terminal. so left to middle and then right to middle. Each time you should get 110 to 120 volts. You set the meter to the V on the dial.If you have the dryer apart make sure that no wire are touching each other or the dryer cabinet and most importantly you, before you plug it in
I am here until 5 pm and then I will be back the next day. What happen before it quit working
have you check the vent for clogs and make sure where it vents out side it is not stopped up. If it is stopped up of clogged int he hose it will trip the thermal fuse located on the top of the heater, you can OHM that one out. If it beeps when you have the tester set to the sound one I circled in the photo, it is good, no beep , no good.
Timers are not a usual cause of a dryer not working. Also, is the belt good. Hoas a belt switch so if the belt breaks the dryer will not run.
Your welcome.I will be back tomorrow if you need help then, and I am here until 5pm ESt
The thermal fuse is the furthest left on the heater. The other thermostats can not be ohmed out with out heat. Just so you know.
That is great. I am glad to hear it. Have a blessed day
The vent is not allowing air through some where.
That is the only thing that makes the fuse to blow
Turn the dryer on and go outside to the vent to see if you can feel it blowing.
I am sure , 40 years appliance experience sure.
yup but do Not use it that way. You have to slide the two terminals together that are on the fuse, I suggest putting some tape around it so it doesn't short out against the dryer
Your welcome. be careful, I don't want you to have a fire, which could happen if you run it that way to long.
ok if you need more help I am here
Your welcome
