Pat Parris spearheads "The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good" in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need.
This March KGUN 9 shines the spotlight on Tucson Indian Center, a nonprofit that has been serving the Native community living in the city since 1963.
The center sprung up from a large migration of Native Americans to Tucson post-World War II, in search of employment and healthcare, among other opportunities. Today, through grants and donations, TIC runs a clinic free for Native Americans who may not be able to afford primary care and behavioral health services otherwise.
You can donate to Tucson Indian Center through its website.
Thank you to our generous viewers for supporting our January Giving Project with The Dunbar Coalition. Through your donations and a $500 matching grant from the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, we raised $1996.45 toward the Dunbar's programs, its preservation of Tucson's African American history and its future expansion.
