Busan Station is a major hub in/out of Busan, the second largest city of South Korea. It is an important stop for the popular high-speed trains (e.g. KTX, SRT) from Seoul and is directly connected to Busan Station (Subway Line 1).

🎀Busan is a highly recommended travel destination for your holiday to South Korea. Besides its all-time favourites Haeundae Beach and Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan has successfully re-energised with many highly popular attractions in recent years (e.g. Lotte World Adventure Busan, Haeundae Beach Train/Sky Capsule). It also improved accessibility to its natural assets, the beautiful coastal walking/hiking trails for nature lovers to Busan. It is a city that you can visit many times and still find new places to visit each time.

Getting Around in Busan Station

It is easy to get around in Busan Station as all signs are in English on top of the local Korean language. There is a Tourist Information Center should you require assistance.

High-speed Trains from Seoul to Busan

KTX ✦ SRT

There 2 main high-speed train services operating between Busan Station to Seoul and other parts of Korea (e.g. Gyeongju, Suwon).

a) KTX High-speed Train

The well-known KTX (Korea Train eXpress) high-speed train from Seoul (i.e. Seoul Station & Yongsan Station) to Busan on the Gyeongbu Line (2.5 hrs) stops at Busan Station.

The slower but cheaper ITX-Saemaul and Mugunghwa trains also stop at Busan Station. All these trains are operated by KORAIL.

b) SRT High-speed Train

Unknown to many foreign visitors to Busan, there is in fact another newer high-speed train, SRT (Super Rapid Train) operated by SR corporation that runs between Suseo Station in Gangnam (Seoul) and Busan Station.

The SRT train started operation in December 2016. It runs on a newly built 61.1km railway from Suseo Station, Dongtan Station to PyeongtaekJije Station before joining the existing KTX line to Busan.

💡86% or 52.3km of SRT new railway runs in a tunnel (i.e. Yulhyeon Tunnel), 50m below the surface.

💡There is an underground transfer passageway that connects Suseo Station 수서역 (Seoul Subway Line 3 / Bundang Line) to Suseo Station 수서역 (SRT) in about 7-10 mins walk. There are 'SRT' direction signs and travellators along the way.

Luggage Storage @Busan Station or Nearby

For travellers on day-trip to Busan, arriving Busan earlier than hotel check-in time or staying at different side of Busan (e.g. Haeundae Beach) but would like to tour the station's side of attractions first (e.g. Gamcheon Culture Village), you can use the luggage lockers at Busan Station (KTX).

Alternatively, if all the lockers are taken up, you can try the lockers at nearby Busan Station (Subway Line 1).

a) Lockers @Busan Station (KTX)

Luggage lockers are available on 1F (near exit 5) and 2F (behind Namcheon Halmae Tteokbokki 남천할매떡볶이) of Busan Station (KTX).

The storage locker's touchscreen operates in 4 languages, namely English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Locker fee starts from ₩1,000 (1st 2 hours), additional ₩200 (every hour from 2nd - 12th hour) and further ₩1,000 (every 12 hours after 12th hour).

The lockers are locked by default. Once the base fee (i.e. 1st 2 hours) of your chosen available locker number is paid, the locker's door will open for you to place your luggage. On luggage retrieval, the door will open after any additional charge (i.e. more than 2 hrs usage) is paid.

Payment methods accepted at Busan Station (KTX) includes cash, credit card and T-money.

⚠️Please do not open your locker unnecessarily. Once the locker is unlocked, it will be reset (i.e. you cannot reuse the locker on your remining time).
