Laser Hair Removal
Our medical-grade Diode Laser uses advanced laser technology, combining three wavelengths and is the gold standard in laser hair removal for all skin tones. Using glide technology, laser hair removal is made comfortable and time efficient. The sensation can be described as a mild ‘plucking’ or ‘flicking’ sensation. Built-in cooling to -4°C provides protection of the skins surface and a comfortable treatment.
Laser Hair Removal works by converting the laser energy into heat and selectively targets the pigment in the hair follicle to inhibit future hair growth, while minimising any risk of damage to surrounding skin.
While some lasers may not be safe or suitable for darker skin colours, we can safely treat all skin types and genders to provide you with the confidence of a hair free body or face.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal
Our SHR (Super Hair Removal) Diode Laser can safely treat all skin types with minimal discomfort. In the past, laser hair removal has been quite painful and unsafe for use on darker skin tones. We can treat skin types 1-6 being suitable for use on people with tanned or darker skin colour.
If you struggle with in-grown hairs or shaving rash, laser is a great way of addressing these problems as the hair follicle is prevented from future growth and significantly reduces the need of shaving. The reduction in hair growth and skin irritation that is achieved from laser hair removal can be a significant confidence booster.
After even one treatment, our clients see a noticeable difference and reduction in their hair growth and hair texture.
How many sessions do I need?
We recommend 8 sessions of laser hair removal for lasting results. Treatments will be spaced 2-8 weeks apart depending on the part of the body being treated.
After completing the recommended course of treatment, an occasional touch up session may be required. Touch ups will be offered at a discounted rate for those who have completed their recommended course of laser treatments.
Other factors can affect results, like genetics, medication, and hormonal factors. For example, a common condition resulting in hormone imbalance is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Ongoing laser hair removal maintenance may be required to treat hair growth associated with this condition.

Before and After Care
-
Shave the night before your appointment.
No AHA or BHA’s such as glycolic, lactic or salicylic products/peels on the area for 7 days pre and post treatment.
Attend your appointment with clean skin, clear of any products, fake tan or makeup.
For the safety of your treatment, do not book or attend for a laser treatment if you have had prolonged direct sun exposure in the last 14 days due to increased melanin activity in your skin.
Do not pluck, wax or thread the hairs for 3-4 weeks before laser as removing the hair follicle and root will mean the laser will not target those hairs.
Try not to shave for 7 days after treatment to allow the hairs to naturally fall out.
-
No direct sun exposure or tanning beds for 7 days.
Wear SPF30+ sunblock with both UVA/UVB protection.
No AHA or BHA’s such as glycolic, lactic or salicylic products/peels on the area for 7 days pre and post treatment.
No hot baths/showers for 24 hours - tepid water only as excessive heat may increase skin irritation.
No heat treatments such as spas, saunas or excessive exercise for 24-48 hours.
No swimming in chlorinated pools for 48 hours.
No plucking or waxing in the areas that have been lasered.
-
You must inform your therapist if you have had recent prolonged or direct exposure in the past 7-14 days at any of your laser appointments. Prolonged sun exposure before laser can increase the risk of adverse side effects and burns.
An SPF30+ must be used daily to protect at all times as your skin is more sensitive to the sun following laser treatments.
Keeping the skin as close to its natural colour will ensure better results quicker and safely. Whilst our machines can treat tanned and even darker skins, it may be necessary to turn down the intensity of the treatment settings if the skin is much darker due to tanning.
As the laser is attracted to the pigment in the target, extra melanin in the skin can increase the lasers attraction to the skin instead of the hair, and therefore, increase the risk of burning.
