Phillip Schofield is hotly tipped to be part of Strictly Come Dancing's first same-sex couple.
The This Morning presenter came out as gay earlier this year to a flurry of support from fans and well wishers.
The BBC programme, which is due to start again in the autumn, has long been urged to be more diverse in its line up, and it seems that this year could offer fans exactly that.
And it is none other than the show’s professional dancer AJ Pritchard who thinks that Schofe would be the perfect celeb for the job.
"I think Philip Schofield would be great on Strictly," he told The Sun.
"He got up on This Morning once with Holly and did a bit of a boogie and he can dance, and he is entertaining, and he is such a nice guy.
"To see him learn and put him under a bit of pressure would always be funny, I’m sure.
"It would be great if he was part of the first same sex couple on Strictly - I would love to see that."
Phil, 58, came out live on This Morning in February with his co host and pal Holly Willoughby sat by his side on the sofa.
Fans of Strictly have been urging bosses to consider same sex pairings following a successful Dancing On Ice pairing of Matt Evers and Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps.
Phil also presents the ice ITV dancing show with Holly.
Despite this, AJ admitted that some of his pro colleagues would rather stick to tradition.
He explained: "I know certain pro dancers would like to dance with a woman because that is what tradition is, and it kind of makes sense but it is very much down to someone’s personal opinion of what Ballroom and Latin dancing actually is.”
"My view is, for example with Ballroom and Latin, they do same sex competitions for under 12s and there are usually more girls than boys who want to dance and so there would be all-girl partnerships.
"For me dancing isn’t about the sex, it’s just about two people dancing and performing together and telling the story - it doesn’t matter if it's two men or two women.
"It is just about dancing and telling the story - why would sex get in the way of that?"
Elsewhere, Johannes Radebe is believed to be the first male professional to dance with someone of the same sex in this year’s series.
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return for a new series in September.
