Super Mario Bros. W1-1? is the final job in Story Mode in Super Mario Maker 2. The job is unlocked by paying the Chief a total of ten thousand coins to complete a statue of Builder Mario. This level is a recreation of World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros., with more enemies added along the way and some areas edited to increase the general difficulty. Completing the job gives the player a Princess Peach Tennis Outfit.

Layout[edit]

The level begins with a Goomba Tower in the place of the initial Goomba, as well as a Hammer Bro on top of the ? Block/Brick Block pyramid structure at the start. A Spike Top and two Thwomps obstruct the following Warp Pipes, with Buzzy Beetles placed in between the remaining Warp Pipes. Should the player attempt to enter the last Warp Pipe in the set, they will instead be led to a bonus area sending them backwards in the level. Additionally, the Hidden Block that previously contained a 1-Up Mushroom now contains a Hammer Bro. After a large pit where Mario must make a well-timed jump off of a Goombrat on a Spike Trap, he will reach the long row of Brick Blocks at the top which has a Buzzy Beetle Tower and two Big Thwomps moving sideways. Mario then reaches the triangular ? Block arrangement, which has multiple Spike Tops swarming around it. The pyramid-like Hard Blocks follow; the one with a simple gap now features two Big Piranha Plants, while the one with a pit now features a running jump segment with a Trampoline positioned at the Hard Blocks on the left side. Mario must then avoid a Buzzy Beetle while hitting a Hidden Block to reach a high Warp Pipe. The four blocks before the end now feature a Big Koopa Troopa below them, and the Hard Block staircase that follows is disjointed but nonetheless leads to the Goal Pole, which is next to a big Bowser.

Description[edit]

"Mario, the road is choked with all manner of fiendish foes. That Bowser—creating this brand of chaos is his specialty! Please, Mario, can you find a way to get through all of these baddies?"
