World 17-1 is the first level of World 17 of Super Mario Challenge from Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS. It is based on Find the Fire Flower! from Super Mario Maker.
Course layout[edit]
There are six segments that the player needs to find an object. In the first segment, the player needs to find a Trampoline amongst six ? Blocks. The Trampoline is located in the fourth block, while the others are just regular ? Blocks with the standard coin. Alternatively, the player can Wall Jump to leave the segment. Taking the Warp Door takes the player to the second segment. This segment is exactly the same as Find the Fire Flower!, but with the Fire Flower in the sixth as well and the last two being just regulars. There are also Vines above that also helps the player get past the third segment without hitting a ? Block. The third segment requires the player to find four Trampolines amongst fifteen ? Blocks. They are located in the third, fifth, eleventh, and thirteenth. There is also a Fire Flower in the fourteenth. The rest contain Boos. After the third segment, the player touches a Checkpoint Flag. The fourth segment contains thirteen ? Blocks. In order to pass, the player must light Mega Bob-omb by using the Big Lava Bubble in the tenth ? Block or by crouching under the ? Blocks and doing a small jump to pick up the Trampoline. Using the latter method, the player can skip segments five and six and reach the Goal Pole using a Para-Beetle from a Red Bill Blaster. The other ? Blocks in segment four contain a Lava Bubble (first, fifth, and eighth), a Fire Flower (sixth), or standard coin (rest). In the fifth segment, the player must find a P Switch amongst twelve ? Block to have a Goomba carrying a Bill Blaster shooting Bullet Bills to move out of the way, as it is on a Conveyor Belt. The P Switch is located in the sixth, while Bloopers are in the rest of the even numbers, a Fire Flower is in the first, and standard coins in the rest of the odd numbers. The sixth and final segment has thirteen ? Blocks. A Lit Winged Bob-omb is located in the eighth. This Bob-omb blows up Hard Blocks blocking a Bill Blaster that shoots Heavy Para-Beetles, which are needed to get to the Goal Pole. The other ? Blocks in the sixth segment contain a Fire Flower (first), a 1-Up Mushroom (third), or a Chain Chomp (rest). There is a Flying ? Block near the Goal Pole that contains a 1-Up Mushroom.
Sound effects are part of the ? Blocks. Standard ? Blocks don't have any, the correct ? Block produces a doorbell sound, a ? Block containing an enemy that is not the solution produces an error buzzer sound effect, and a helpful item that is not the solution produces a clapping sound.
