Would sure help to Mr Food to show how it's made as I always look at the ratings comments before making recipes on this site and this one has mixed reviews so I'm confused.

Was more like a dough. Not sure what I did wrong. Ended up wetting a plastic spoon to spread it out, I did put 2 cans of cherry filling on, and the top, I wet my hands and flattened my " dough" to get it mostly over the top. Still trasted good, just a pain

Hi there! We're sorry you had trouble with this recipe. Coffee cakes tend to have a stiffer batter, which is why we recommend using a wet knife. While it is a little more work, we find that the results are totally worth it. We're glad you enjoyed the taste and thank you for your feedback!

I made this and the next time I bake it I will make some changes. I would add one more can cherry pie filling, do not use the topping, and use a pan instead of a glass dish. It was a little dry. Other wise it was great.

Hi there! We're sorry that this recipe did not turn out the way that you wanted it to. We believe that it could have been over-baked, or that the oven it was made in may not be calibrated correctly. We recommend baking it for 5-10 minutes less and seeing how that works. If you make this recipe again and it turns out well, send us a picture. We would love to hear your feedback. Thanks! -Mr. Food Test Kitchen Team
