“In The Midnight Hour” is a popular song mostly known as a 1965 recording by the American singer-songwriter Wilson Pickett. He co-wrote it together with another American songwriter and guitar player Steven Lee Cropper. The single appears on two music albums Wilson released: “In the Midnight Hour” (1965) and “The Exciting Wilson Pickett (1966)”. Besides the music popularity, the song is also known for the historic place of its composition – a Memphis motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. “In The Midnight Hour” occupied the first position on the R&B charts in 1965 and soon moved on to the famous Billboard Hot 100 reaching No. 21. The Rolling Stone magazine called this iconic R&B composition among the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (175th). It is as well officially one of the songs that shaped Rock and Roll. Of course, there have been a lot of covers recorded since 1965, the sheet music to some of which is available at MusicaNeo. Among them, versions by The Mirettes, Cross Country, Razzy Bailey. Other well-known hits by Wilson Pickett are "Mustang Sally", "Land of 1,000 Dances", and "Funky Broadway”.
