Harnett County Sheriff’s Investigators have made an arrest in an assault that has its victim in critical condition as a result of her injuries and in the N.C. Burn Center.

Investigator Ronald Beasley arrested Jami Raiziah Griffin, 23, of 646 Barbecue Church Road, Sanford, and charged him with misdemeanor assault on a female, felony attempted first degree murder and felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury on Ashanti Downey according to a statement issued by Sheriff Wayne Coats at 10:31 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27.
