Hundreds of people are thought to be buried in unmarked graves at “Harnett County’s Oldest African American Cemetery.”

Volunteers, who have worked countless hours cleaning up Wilkins Cemetery at the end of Wilson Avenue in Dunn, discovered the identities of at least 19 of them. Those 19 are memorialized in a special monument that was dedicated at the burial ground Sunday afternoon.
