For the second straight year, Rock Creek won the North Daviess Invitational on Saturday.

ELNORA — For the second straight year, Rock Creek captured Saturday's North Daviess Invitational. 

The Lions defeated Mitchell 61-50 in their first game before beating the host Cougars 56-46 in the final. 

Against the Bluejackets, Aleeyah Brown (16) and Kelis Dansby (12) combined for 28 points for victorious Rock Creek. 

In the final, Brown tallied a team-best 17 while Dansby added 11 and Ryleigh Newton 10 for the Lions. 

Rock Creek (3-7), which has won three in a row, will host Crothersville at noon Saturday. 

DRAGONS DOWN GREEN WAVE

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Silver Creek built a 15-point halftime lead en route to a 66-44 win over Meade County (Ky.) in the Independence Tip-Off Classic at the Owensboro Sportscenter. 

The Dragons led 14-6 at the end of the first quarter and 29-14 at the break. Silver Creek extended its advantage to 50-33 through three periods in its 22-point triumph.  

Emma Schoen led the way for the Dragons. The sophomore guard scored a team-high 19 points. She hit five field goals, including a trio of 3-pointers, while making 6 of 7 free throws.

Brooklynn Renn added a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) while Wright finished with 16 points, five rebounds and a team-best four assists for Creek, which shot 56 percent from the field (21 for 37) and was 13 for 16 (81 percent) from the free throw line. 

"Great win against a very good team," Dragons coach Scott Schoen said. "It was our most efficient game offensively and our defense was great on their 2,000-point scorer, holding her to two points in the first half. I'm very proud of traveling two hours and beating a good team."   

Silver Creek (6-1) will host Floyd Central at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

WARRIORS WIN

NEW ALBANY — Christian Academy outscored Switzerland County 30-10 in the second half to rally for a 51-35 win Saturday afternoon. 

The Pacers led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter and 25-21 at the break before the Warriors battled back. CAI outscored Switzerland 14-7 in the third period and 16-3 in the final frame to secure the victory. 

Alexus Bryant scored a game-high 16 points, including 14 in the second half, for the Warriors. Macy Jackson added nine while Leah Stevens and Carly Stevens had eight apiece. 

CAI didn't hit a 3-pointer, but went 25 for 33 from the free throw line. Bryant was 12 for 12 from the charity stripe. 

The Warriors (3-6) will visit Trinity Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

STARS DEFEAT 'DOGS

NEW ALBANY — Class 4A No. 7 Bedford North Lawrence rolled to an 86-30 win at New Albany in a Hoosier Hills Conference contest Saturday afternoon. 

The reigning state champion Stars led 25-12 at the end of the first quarter, 53-18 at halftime and 74-23 through three periods en route to victory. 

Miss Basketball frontrunner Chloe Spreen tallied 23 points while Madisyn Bailey totaled 21 for BNL.

Maizy Smith scored 12 to lead the Bulldogs while freshman Emily Spainhour added 10. 

New Albany will host 3A No. 10 Scottsburg at 7 p.m. Thursday night.

CLARKSVILLE — Visiting Crawford County clipped Clarksville 61-35 Saturday evening. 

The visitors led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter and 39-18 at the break. They added to their lead after intermission. 

The Generals (2-6) are idle until they visit Paoli on Dec. 12.
