Join public school parents, teachers and staff across the nation in this grassroots effort to celebrate the importance of public education to our democracy. For the week of February 24, we'll be cheering the greatness of our hometown schools loud and proud for our communities and elected officials, reminding them how important public schools are as they serve 95% of students in Oklahoma. 

You can join us! Begin by updating your social media profile pic with the #PublicSchoolProud frame and download the toolkit below that's right for you. Follow your local PLAC and/or OKPLAC for actions to take each day and content to share on your personal page.

Be sure to join us at the Oklahoma State Capitol steps on Tuesday, February 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to join other public education advocates for a rally and meetings with legislators!

"Public schools in Oklahoma are still last in the region in per pupil funding. That does make a difference to teachers. So we're still trying to retain teachers and get more qualified teachers in the classroom. Teachers want to be successful," Lisa Kramer from the OKPLAC said.
