OUR STORY
ABOUT US
Olive Tree Day school started with a seed of faith. In 2017, Kelly Wegley opened a small home daycare in her converted master bedroom and started a half day preschool program. Over the last five years, the program expanded to a large license and has served over 75 families in our community. This school is true testament of Gods faithfulness. With roots that sown deep Olive Tree Day School thrives to fully flourish and be a beacon of light in our community.
I made this video in 2022 when I felt like challenge of opening of this school was beyond my capacity and overwhelming. I reached out to to the Magnolia (Chip and Joanna) Giving to see if they would be willing to help. Here was their response.....
Dear Kelly,
Thank you for reaching out to Magnolia, and for sharing your story with us. We are sorry to hear of your current struggles with your preschool. While we are not able to help you with those needs, we could suggest you reach out to service organizations in your neighboring community. Local organizations are usually much better equipped to help meet specific needs in times of hardship and can connect you with people to walk alongside you through any current or future challenges you may face. Programs such as the California Dream Fund, Working Solutions, U.S. Small Business Administration, maybe able to assist you. These types of programs often vary by region, so you may need to contact several organizations to obtain direction as to where you might find the help you need. If you need help finding a good contractor, we suggest you ask at your local hardware, paint and/or home improvement store for some recommendations.
We wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Magnolia
Looking back I know it was God teaching me to trust Him and Him alone to bring the help needed to get the school in operation and ready for licensing. He had called me to this project whilst raising two little humans (3 years and 9 months at the time). Our school families helped and our church family Life Bible Fellowship stepped in to help. A group of men and volunteers helped with our playground and classroom projects. We are still blessed by Jim Hansen (retired Contractor) and Jeff Collier (retired City Planner for the city of Whittier).
We are here and serving our community because He has made the way and is still making a way. We give Him glory everyday in our classrooms and as a staff before our day begins. Come see what God has done and is doing at Olive Tree Day School!
In His Service,
Ms. Kelly
