This article is written specially for the benefit of people who are planning to move to Penang, and are considering different neighbourhoods before selecting a property. The scope of this article is presently Penang Island, but I will expand it to include Penang Mainland in the future.

Coming from a different state or country, you might not be very familiar with the neighbourhoods in Penang. So, on this page, I show you the location of the various neighbourhoods, in order that you may immediately understand their distance from the town centre

In addition to giving you an idea about the neighbourhood, I will also share with use details such as traffic situation in the area, geography, and practical matters such as location of the nearest market and shopping mall.

When choosing a property, it is worth to determine its distance from your place of work, particularly if you are going to stay there. If your plan is to collect rental, then its distance from the city centre or centres of industry (such as the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone) should be taken into consideration, on top of other considerations, such as availability of amenities in the area. So properties should not be consider as stand alone, but rather impacted by its surroundings.
