Matt Sassari

French DJ and producer Matt Sassari has continually refined his propulsive, club-ready blend of techno and house. Steadily pumping out tracks since the early 2010s, he has issued music on labels like Cr2, DFTD, Glasgow Underground, and Relief Records, and has received support from DJs like Carl Cox and Adam Beyer. He broke through with his 2021 interpretation of Timbaland's chart-topping hit "Give It to Me," and has since released additional covers and interpolations of familiar dance hits, such as his 2024 version of Sonique's "It Feels So Good." Sassari has additionally issued songs with artists like SIDEPIECE (2024's "Elektro") and Alan Fitzpatrick (2025's "Lost in Sound").Marseille-based Matt Sassari first surfaced in 2012, releasing minimal tech-house tracks on digital imprints such as Potobolo Records and Deeperfect. He performed at clubs and festivals across Europe and occasionally North America, and he released music on Relief Records ("Excelsior") and DFTD ("Isuly," with Spencer K) in 2016. Harder-edged techno collaborations with Patrik Berg and Umek created a buzz in 2018, and Sassari released the OutKast-sampling "Jackson" in 2019, as well as his first single for Cr2 Records, "Put a Record On," borrowing from Madonna's "Music." Sassari continued sampling hits from the '90s and 2000s, and his 2021 single "Give It to Me," based on the Timbaland track featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, became a major club hit. 2022 brought other tracks such as "Step To" (also sampling Timbaland) and "Say What" (based on Jungle Brothers' "I'll House You"). Sassari released several vocal-driven original collaborations in 2023, including "Sleepwalking" (with Goodboys) and "Remedy" (with Quarterhead and Miggy Dela Rosa). In 2024, Sassari released "Our Lovely City (Hands Up for Detroit)," with Matthew Dear, as well as the euphoric "Close Your Eyes," with Dillon Francis and James Carter, and a cover of Sonique's "It Feels So Good," with HUGEL. Sassari also collaborated with SIDEPIECE on the track "Elektro." "Lost in Sound," with Alan Fitzpatrick, appeared in 2025.
