If these 6 teams leave the premier league, revenue for the remaining clubs will drop. But that's fine.

If there's less money coming in, clubs will spend less on wages. The league will still carry on and all clubs will be forced to cut their cloth accordingly. From 1980 to 1986 there was a 15% decrease in crowds across the football league. None of the clubs vanished.
Even teams like Leeds and Portsmouth still exist after perilous financial positions. How many clubs have actually ceased to exist in the last 20 years? Aldsrshot, Bury... any others?

English football will carry on while the 6 teams go off and play their super franchise.
If you think we can't carry on without those clubs then you're indoctrinated by Sky's narrative. Within two years they wouldn't be missed

I get what you're saying and you're largely correct that it won't be the end, but of course they will be missed. The countries 3 most successful clubs in history gone over night. The PL is devalued as a competition. Money goes and clubs will struggle for a few years as contracts still need to be paid. People will lose their jobs. Lawsuits will be coming from TV companies wanting to renage on their deals. Any player who is half decent will leave for the super league to still be a millionaire. Standards will drop significantly.

Long term though, it may all be a price worth paying, you soon adapt to playing a lower standard of football than you did before (as we both know) and the only thing that matters is being of a better standard than your opponent.

Let's be f***ing real, this is what we all knew anyway - the Top 6 are a cabal of twats that only care for themselves. They're dirty capitalists in every sense of the word. They don't want competition, they want competition between themselves and their mates.

Leicester was biggest f***ing wake up call to their cause, and I hope we jettison the lot of them into the sea. Tired of having to just enjoy existing so these twats can ruin it anyway.

Oh you're absolutely right. This will replace the Champions League and everything will carry on as normal when the dust settles. It's irreparably fractured my relationship with football though. It makes me sick.

It doesn’t replace the CL as it has nothing to do with UEFA

In all seriousness this has done me in. I've been pretty low for a long time and one of the constants of life that gets me through every week is my football team.

The thought of getting back to matches has been one thing I've focused on for the last year to to keep me going, it's the only place I ever switch off from the anxiety in my mind and forget about everything else.

This is like a massive kick to the stomach, what's the point. How dare they.

Ah right. So a different name for the CL but with less teams but still with teams that are not all champions

20 clubs, only 5 of them qualify for it, the other 15 turn up and play in it every season regardless. There's a number of big clubs who havent signed up for it (Bayern, PSG etc) which probably explains why they've left 5 free spaces.

They want the best of both Worlds. The benefit of the exposure they get domestically whilst also guaranteeing a seat at the top table, fetching in £3.5b for themselves.

The other thing is that sadly regardless of the uproar in the UK, the African, Asian, Middle Eastern and North and South American 'fans' who have picked these clubs to 'support' will watch this competition in their millions (if not billions) and that equates to more income for these teams and therefore holds more sway now.

If they're chucked out, all the leagues will improve as competitions.

So the 12 founders are

Man Utd
Man City
Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs
Liverpool
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid
Juve
Inter
AC Milan

No Bayern or PSG (yet) how big will it go?
What happens when the rest of the world get teams dominating? Do they add Inter Miami and call it a world super league?

These clubs have created a mid week competition that they expect to play in alongside their domestic league. Did you hear any mention of the Champions League in their statement? Its done. UEFA can either accept this and officially endorse it or have a Champions League between the European also rans.
