Dahab, meaning 'gold' in Arabic, has an enviable location at the foot of the Sinai mountains about 100 km north of Sharm el Sheikh. A Bedouin settlement for many years, Dahab is well known for its unique, laid back atmosphere and some of the most spectacular diving in the Red Sea.
Legendary sites like the Blue Hole and the Canyon attract adrenaline seekers year after year, but easy access to sites from the shore, plus jeep and camel dive safaris, mean that Dahab is a great choice for divers of all levels of experience. Its deep waters also mean the chance to see not only large numbers of reef species but also the occasional pelagic and even the odd shark.
Learning to Dive
Most of the diving in Dahab is conducted from the shore, which makes it a good option for novice divers. Confined water training is often undertaken in the sea at sites such as the Lighthouse, with its large sandy slopes and gentle drop off. The wall and sprawling coral gardens offer a range of depths to suit all divers, as well as a spectacular variety of marine life and coral. The Islands is another well-known site that offers an underwater magical maze of vivid coral boulders, passages, amphitheatres and bowls in less than 18 m, and is home to barracuda and turtles.
Qualified Divers
The amazing topography of this underwater world is the main attraction of Dahab. Experienced divers and photography fans are really spoilt for choice, with a number of spectacular sites situated near the shore.
Deep and technical divers are particularly well catered for, and special trips are organised to take in the Bells, the Blue Hole and the Canyon. The depths of the Blue Hole are best left to technical divers as it drops to below 130 m, but the entry point is home to the Bells and an amazing ‘pool’ formed in the reef plate. The open water here is some of the clearest, deepest blue you have ever seen. The drop-off is magnificent and absolutely vertical, with overhangs and cavelets and an incredible diversity of marine life. Towards the end of the dive, it is possible to enter the Blue Hole at around 7 m and finish your dive inside the Blue Hole.
The Canyon is also a popular site and the result of ancient volcanic activity. Here the subterranean underwater tunnel has split along the top, allowing access from several points, and an amazing topography of grottos, caves and a beautiful ‘fishbowl’ at 20 m with a chamber packed full of billowing glassfish and anthias.
Twin Centre Diving
Diving in Dahab can also be combined with the spectacular diving available in Sharm, including the Ras Mohammed Marine Park. Please enquire with our friendly Regaldive team to discuss an itinerary.
Circle Divers Dahab
With its prime location in the enviable Jaz Dahabeya Resort in Dahab, Circle Divers offers a wide range of diving packages, courses, and unforgettable dive sites to explore.
The professional team provides diverse diving packages tailored to suit different interests and skill levels, offering fantastic opportunities to discover the vibrant marine life and captivating underwater landscapes of this region of the Red Sea. Highlights include the iconic Blue Hole, renowned for its underwater arches and abundant marine life, and the captivating Canyon, characterised by its narrow passages and stunning rock formations.
Other notable sites include the vibrant reefs of Eel Garden, Lighthouse, and Islands, where divers can encounter an array of colourful coral formations, tropical fish species, and even the occasional sea turtle or dolphin.
For those looking to enhance their diving skills, the dive centre offers a comprehensive range of SSI and PADI courses. From entry-level certifications such as the Open Water Diver course to more advanced certifications like the Rescue Diver course, divers of all levels can expand their knowledge and expertise under the guidance of qualified instructors. Specialty courses, including underwater photography and wreck diving, are also available for those seeking to explore specific interests.
The resort also benefits from a house reef, providing an ideal option for courses and refreshers.
A typical 5 day, 10 dive package at Circle Divers starts from £250 per person, while an Open Water course begins from £300.
The dive centre is located in the Jaz Dahabeya Hotel and is a short walk from the Swiss Inn Dahab.
Dahab is located on the Sinai Peninsula, 100 km north of Sharm el Sheikh. There is a strong ethnic atmosphere due to the Bedouin community who have lived in the area for many years.

Fab Holiday - Thankyou!
"Hi Michaela,
I wanted to contact you anyway to say how impressed we were with the Regaldive service.
The welcome was excellent, the transfer to Dahab was fab, stopping for a coffee on the way, couldn't have asked for a better start to the holiday.
The rooms at the Nesima Resort are clean and the air con worked well so no complaints there.
As for the dive centre they could not have been better. Well organised, very helpful, they even managed to sort out stuff for my bout of gippy tummy. We had one guide for the first day then changed for another (Ahmed Hamza, he was absolutely fabulous). He stayed with us for the rest of the dives which we found better than trying to get to know someone new every day. Sigi who is the dive/resort co-ordinator was also great, she organised an underwater wedding and we were invited, what an incredible experience.
We will certainly be going back there, hopefully the same time next year and this time for two weeks, so we will contact you closer to the time.
We will be up at the NEC for the dive show so will come and see you. We will certainly recommend you to our friends.
Thanks
Lesley & Liam Holley"

Welcome Home
"Our diving holiday was great, all pick ups from/to the airport/hotel on time.
The rep at the hotel was good as I had a small accident one day on the boat, and she followed it up with a number of phone calls to me to se if I was OK.
Will book again with yourselves.

Dahab Feedback
"Hi Michaela,
Thanks for the a great time.
Flight, hotel and transfers were all great - especially the Nesima hotel, very friendly, and a brilliant location. The reef just opposite the back of the hotel was lovely and just great for snorkelling (and ideal for
non diving guests).
Should be booking again soon. I might even qualify for a loyalty discount.
Best wishes
Andrew Kaye"

Best Dive Holiday Ever in Dahab!
"Dear Claire,
I promised to give you feedback following our hols to Dahab, so here it is!
We had one of the best dive holidays ever!
Monarch: To our great surprise, we had good legroom and the service from check-in through to on board was extremely good. It was well worth paying the extra for their Plus service as we had seats together and where we wanted.
The Regal Representative Company - Blue Sky: Were really efficient when meeting us at Sharm and on the return and very personable. The drivers were very good (not as scary as ones we have encountered before in Egypt!)
The Hilton Dahab: Fantastic - the buffet food was excellent and we would have put on masses of weight if we hadn't been diving every day. The staff were so attentive without being obtrusive and our room although a standard was very private and comfortable.
Sinai Divers: We can't speak highly enough about them. An excellent bunch - very efficient and safety conscious without being pedantic. A very similar style to the Dive Tribe in ElGouna who are also brilliant.
The Diving: That wasn't too bad either! We are so glad you recommended not leaving before doing the Bells/Canyon/Blue Hole! They are a contender for top of our dive list now. Well, hope that helps and hasn't sent you too sleep.
As ever, we were very pleased with your service and you will be seeing us again!
With best wishes
Mary Robbins"

Whale shark in Dahab!
"Hello Regal,
We set off to Gabr el Bint for our boat & drift dives and within five minutes the crew were all excited & shouting, 'shark!' There was a beautiful whale shark (around 10m long) circling the boat, so we slowed & circled it for several minutes. The crew told us whale sharks only appear once or twice a year in the area, so we felt thrilled to have seen it as you can imagine!
The following day, we went firstly to Canyon for my deep dive (which was great!),then in the afternoon we went to Blue Hole. It was my first dive qualified as an Advanced Diver. With only me, Carol & Gamal the instructor, we were returning to shore at around 15m when Gamal suddenly beckoned us forward to him. As we got nearer, there in front of him was the whale shark again! Gamal, eagerly swam with it as it swam around us, so elated and making the most of every second it was in our sight.
It did a figure of eight, plus a circle around us, and then on its final pass, came straight to me passing just inches below. I had to move to the side so as not to touch its tail which was over 6 feet high! Then off it went into the great blue yonder - such an incredible experience! When it left us, we were literally dancing with joy & we were absolutely thrilled to have had such a close encounter with it. When we got back to shore, Gamal went along the beach telling his friends and colleagues, and it seems we were the only ones who had been fortunate enough to have such a close up encounter! Gamal, our instructor, with some 9,000 dives to his credit had never had such an experience, and yet I got it on my 10th, Carol on her 260th - unbelievable!! It really was the dive of a lifetime and one that will stay with each of us for ever.

"Dear Sirs,
This letter is to firstly thank both Regaldive and your team for organising a superb diving holiday for us in Dahab, and secondly for all your help and assistance in getting us safely home during the recent volcano travel situation.
Without the extremely helpful and professional assistance of Lisa your dive rep in Hurghada, we would have been totally lost and our holiday ruined. I would like to advise that her continued updates and assistance fully reassured us and enabled us to enjoy the rest of our holiday and fly back to the UK safely.
We would therefore very much like to thank Regal and pass on our best wishes to Lisa to thank her again very much for her help.
Here’s to our next diving holiday with Regaldive!
Many thanks again.
Yours faithfully
Bernadette McConnell"

Welcome Home
"Dear Michaela,
Thank-you for your email and yes we had a fantastic diving holiday, though I thoughtI would drop you a line as trying to fill out a holiday questionnaire in the back of a taxi, in the dark, on route to Sharm airport, I felt didn’t do the holiday justice.
• The meet and greet at the airport was spot on and having our visas ready with your agent to just stick into our passports made entry through Sharm airport a breeze and put us into baggage collection first.
• We had a great trip over to Dahab with the very chatty Husain who couldn’t do enough for us.
• The Hilton resort was excellent and our room superb.
• Sinai divers are by far the best dive centre I have visited in thirty years of diving.
The dive guides were excellent, extremely professional and none of this laddish clowning about you so frequently get. The course instruction was excellent and my wife breezed through her Nitrox course and felt really confident and well informed. The centre admin was its crowning glory, nothing was too much trouble and everything was tuned and organised to perfection. And it was nice to be in a centre which felt it was thought out properly and not just a hotel add-on stuck down a back ally. I can recommend the Camel Diving safari, it was fab.
• We ate out most nights in downtown Masbat and the food generally was good but the Blue House Thai restaurant was simply amazing.
• The journey back was equally well organised and we got to Sharm airport well ahead of the crowds.
So in short, well done Regaldive, a well organised holiday with a top notch dive centre and it will go down as one of our best.
See you next year
Kind regards
David Hall-Davies"

Welcome Home
"Hi Michaela,
Just a quick note to say thank you that, once again, we had a great trip to Dahab.
The Hilton is a great hotel and Sinai Divers provide great service with excellent diving. Your Egyptian agent Brightsky got us to the hotel and back to the airport on time and with a smile (although their cars could have been bigger as we had three
bags).
Thanks again, we'll be back.

Holiday Feedback
"Hi Simon,
Just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you for doing such a good job organising our holiday at relatively short notice.
The Hilton and their staff were lovely as usual, weather was great and apart from having to hunt out the Bright Sky rep when we first landed at Sharm, everything went really smoothly.
We both had a really restful week which has set us up for the long, dark and cold Scottish winter....
It's always a pleasure to travel when you and your team are organising it!
Will be in touch in due course to plan 2012.
Thanks again
Thelma"
