Your First Visit
Both of your eyes will be examined after full dilation of the pupils. Same day testing for retinal disease may include:
- Ophthalmoscopy
- Fundus Photography
- Ocular Ultrasound
- Fluorescein Angiography
- Optical Coherence Tomography
It is best to have someone drive you to your appointment. Please bring sunglasses with you. Your eyes will be sensitive to light for several hours after your exam.
Appointments
In order to accommodate all patients who need to be seen, we prefer to work on an appointment basis. We request that you call in advance so we can reserve a time for you. We make every effort to honor our time commitments and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify us in advance so that we may be of service to another patient. On occasion, emergencies do arise, but we will try to inform you if there will be any lengthy delays.

We realize emergency situations will arise and we will try our best to respond to your problems promptly. You may call (973) 539-3600 at any time.
Referrals
Another physician has referred you to us. Please let us know his or her name so we can report our findings promptly. Please bring either a letter or prescription stating the exact reason for your referral to our office.
Patient Accounts
Any questions regarding your account or insurance claim filing should be directed to our billing personnel. Most forms of health coverage are accepted, including most HMO's, Medicare and Medicaid. You may call (973) 539-3600 at any time.
Research
The office is frequently involved in important research projects involving new medications, therapies, treatment, surgery. Dr. Sachs will discuss these projects with you. You may be eligible for enrollment in a study.
