The most common cancers in the UK in 2010 were breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, bowel cancer, and malignant melanoma. The top 5 cancers accounted for over half of all new cancer cases. The 20 most common cancer sites included breast, lung, prostate, bowel, melanoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, bladder, kidney, esophagus, pancreas, uterus, leukemia, stomach, ovary, oral cavity, brain, myeloma, liver, cervix, and thyroid cancer. Data on new cancer cases was provided by Cancer Research UK and drawn from several sources including the Office for National Statistics and cancer registries in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
