ColaCor 400
DESCRIPTION
ColaCor 400 is a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor designed for use in various metalworking, detergent and aerosol applications. Aqueous solutions are very low foaming and will provide effective corrosion protection at recommended use concentrations. The performance properties of ColaCor 400 are not affected by water hardness, and aqueous films dry down to non-tacky residues. ColaCor 400 demonstrates more potent corrosion inhibiting properties than traditionally used carboxylic types. ColaCor 400 is currently being used successfully in low foam, alkaline spray washes for rust protection, as well as, for improved wetting/rinsibility at 0.1% 0.3% active.
PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTES
Effective at Low Concentrations Low Foaming Hard Water Tolerant
Cast Iron Chip Rust Test ColaCor 400 passed at a concentration of 0.10% in deionized and 170ppm water hardness. Waring Blender Foam Test ColaCor 400 did not foam at a concentration of 0.05 and 0.10% in deionized and 170 ppm hardness water. Cast Iron Block Test ColaCor 400 passes this test at a concentration of 0.05% in deionized and 170 ppm hardness water thus demonstrating superior rust protection. Competitors A, B, and C, needed a concentration of 2.0% under the same conditions to approach the performance of ColaCor 400. The closest competitive performer tested needed 1.0% concentration to fulfill the same function.
