    Testing of lacquer products and paint coatings

    General description
    Ship Design and Research Centre (Centrum Techniki Okrtowej S.A.) carries out investigations of paint coatings and lacquer products properties as well as tests referring to preparation of steel surfaces for lacquer products coating.

    Recipient of services
    Manufacturers of lacquer products, companies using protection with lacquer
    salt spray chamber for corrosion tests in salt mist

    products, shipyards, shipowners, paint works.

    Scope of work
    The offer includes execution of following tests: determination of density and effluence time by means of effluence cups, determination of non-volatile substances contents in paints, lacquers and their binders, determination of dripping, fluidity, acid value, dry rate and time of drying determination of layers and coatings thickness by destructive and undestructive methods, determination of dry coating volume, determination of coatings flexibility by bending, determination of resistance to inert salt mist, determination of grindability, hardness, lustre, resistance to stroke, indentation and scratch, determination of adhesion by incision grid and tear-off methods, determination of porosity and resistance to liquid action and condensation, determination of resistance to dynamic and static sea water action, determination of resistance to atmospheric agents action under natural and accelaration conditions, determination of resistance to factors accompanying cathodic polarization basis, determination of resistance to mechanical agents action at bending test, measurements of ships hull underwater body roughness according to classification societes requirements, measurements referring to preparation of steel surfaces for lacquer products coating: - measurements of surfaces roughness after stream-abrasive machining, - assessment of steel surfaces chemical purity, dust residue on steel surfaces prepared for painting and probability of steam condensation before painting
