Animoto app by Animoto Inc. available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/animoto-video-
maker/id459248037?mt=8.
Animoto is a free app that allows you to make slide shows effortlessly beautiful. With
their preset formats, all you have to do is plug in your photos and let Animoto do the
rest of the work. I first heard of this app in EDUC 514 with Bill Selak. I am utilizing
this app as a tool for students to create a presentation to practice their sight words with.

Garage Band app by Apple, available at
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/garageband/id408709785?mt=8.
This app is available for purchase on all Apple devices. With this app, you can compose
your own songs and music using a variety of instruments. This app makes composing
easy with many preset features to mix and match sounds as you please. I discovered this
app through my time with Bill Selak in EDUC 514. In my activities, I have my students
utilize this app to explore their musical talents and create songs that show off what they
have learned.

Talking Tom and Ben News app by Out Fit 7 LTD. Available at
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/talking-tom-ben-news/id444946356?mt=8.
This is a free app animates your voice with two characters, Tom and Ben. These two
characters take turns repeating what you say while playing pranks on each other. This
app allows you to record your conversation with Tom and Ben to use as a presentation.
I learned of this app is EDUC 522 with Jennifer Courduff. I am utilizing this app as a
tool for my intrapersonal and verbal students as an alternative to presenting in front of

the class. Students will really be able to shine without the pressure of presenting in front
of their peers.

Voice Recorder feature in Pages, available at

The Pages app is available for purchase and use on iPads and MacBooks for $9.99. This
feature on the Pages app allows the user to dictate what they want to appear on the
pages. This feature has been one that I have used for a while, but an education
application of it was introduced to me in EDUC 522 with Jennifer Courduff. I am
utilizing this feature in my activities as an option for my verbal students to speak their
assignments.

KidSpiration Maps app by Inspiration Software, Inc. available at
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kidspiration-maps-lite/id675831529?mt=8.
This is a free app that provides easy to use mind map templates for students to fill out
in a way that meets their needs. My classmate first introduced me to this app as part of
our app sharing assignment in EDUC 512 with Kristi Hernandez. Students will utilize
this app to help them learn how events are related as well as how to decipher the main
idea from supporting details.

iMovie app by Apple, available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imovie/id377298193?mt=8.
This app/program is available for purchase on iPads and MacBooks for $4.99. This app
allows the user to film and edit videos with varying degrees of expertise and options. I

first learned the ins and outs of this app in EDUC 514 with Bill Selak. I am utilizing this
app as a tool for students to be creative and record themselves creatively performing
their knowledge of the material they learned.

Pages app by Apple available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8.
This app/program is available for purchase for iPads and MacBooks in the App store
for $9.99. This app is Apples version of Word and allows users to create and edit
documents. I have been using this program for many years, but really learned how I
can effectively incorporate it into my classroom through EDUC 515 with Jason
Saliskar. This app is utilized in my activities in several ways including allowing my
intrapersonal students to complete assignments by typing them.
Metronome app by ONYX, available at

This is a free app that allows the user to hear the steady rhythm of a metronome. Users
are able to choose the tempo at which the metronome plays. This is a great app for
students to use to monitor their rate while reading aloud. I have written plans to use it
for my musical students to self-monitor the rate at which they should be reading and
helping them maintain a steady reading rate.

Notebook + app by WeiWei Zhang, available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/notebook+-
free/id441424813?mt=8.
This is a free app that allows users to take notes in a variety of ways. Notebook+ serves
as an interactive notebook for users to notate using text, pictures, voice recordings and

doodles. My students will utilize this app to take notes on peer discussions and on
thoughts they have while reading.
Keynote by Apple available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/keynote/id361285480?mt=8.
This app is available in the App store for $9.99. It is compatible with the iPad and
MacBooks. Keynote is Apples version of PowerPoint and allows users to create vibrant
presentations. I have been using this app for years and am excited to apply it to my
classroom. My students will use this app to create presentations to present to the class
as well as create tools for themselves to learn the material.
Endless Reader app by Orginator Inc. available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/endless-
reader/id722910739?mt=8.
This is a free app that helps students learn to read by providing interactive sentences. Each
page has a new sentence with certain words highlighted. When the student touches these
words, they become animated and read themselves. Through this, students are able to learn
words by seeing and hearing them. I discovered this app through a classmate in EDUC 512
with Kristi Hernandez. My students will utilize this app to help them meet their reading
goals and to learn new words.
Auto Rap app by Smule, available at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/autorap-by-
smule/id524299475?mt=8.
This is a free app that allows the user to record their voice, then auto tunes it and puts it to
music. This app allows musical students to better engage with the material and listen to it
over and over with a melody. I discovered this app in EDUC 522 with Jennifer Courduff,
where she showed me how to use it as a tool for students to practice new information. My
students will utilize this app to help them practice their sight words.

Google Docs website, available at www.docs.google.com.
This website allows users to create documents that are easily shared with other gmail
users. These documents can be edited from any computer that has access to wifi and
anyone granted access to the document may make changes and add comments to the
document. I have been using this website throughout my college career, but discovered
its usefulness in the classroom setting when I was in EDUC 515 with Jason Saliskar. My
students will be utilizing this app to create writing assignments that will be easily
shared with me.
Word Central website, available at www.wordcentral.com.
This website is Merriam-Websters kid-friendly online dictionary. It provides a pleasantly
designed interface for students to easily look up words. Students even have the option of
looking up synonyms and rhyming words. I discovered this website when I was looking for
resources for my unit project in Jennifer Courduffs EDUC 522 course. My students will
utilize this website to look up unknown words, define them, and be able to put them into a
sentence.
Starfall website, available at www.starfall.com
This website is a great, free resource for students who need support with reading. It
provides several levels to meet each students need. Students are introduced to new
words in fun, interactive ways as well as puts those words into sentences for the student
to practice. A classmate introduced me to this website in EDUC 512 with Kristi
Hernandez. My students will visit this website and complete the exercises to help them
meet their various reading goals.
Prezi website, available at www.prezi.com.

This website is a free service that provides a fun alternative to PowerPoint and
Keynote. Users are able to create fun and engaging presentations both from templates
and from scratch. Prezi is an interesting way to present bullet point ideas and keeps the
presentation free of clutter and too much text. This is a website I have been using
throughout my college career and am excited to adapt it for use in my classrooms.
Students will use this website to create engaging presentations that demonstrate their
knowledge of the material.
Fakebook website, available at www.classtools.net/FB/home-page.
This website provides a service similar to the social media site, Facebook. It is geared to
reach a small population of schools and students and is an easy way for teachers and students
to communicate with one another. This site is one that I learned about through EDUC 522
with Jennifer Courduff. My students will utilize this site to post comments and constructive
criticisms on their classmates walls.
