ANNUAL REPORT

ABOUT THE COLLEGE


Hindusthan Institute of Technology was started in the year of 2007 by the great
industrialist and philanthropist, Thiru.T.S.R.Khannaiyann.
The primary objective of the Hindusthan Institute of Technology is to educate and
prepare men and women for leadership in industry, government, and educational
institutions; to advance the knowledge base of the engineering professions; and to
influence the future directions of engineering education and practice.
The College has well-furnished classrooms, state-of- the-art laboratories, computer
centers and a well-stocked library. Separate Hostels with all the modern amenities
are provided for men and women. The campus consists of lush green lawns, a
playground, GYM and also facilities for indoor games. A fleet of vehicles caters to
the transport needs.
HIT believes not only in educating the students, but also grooming characters, with
moral and ethical values, thus building the nation. Since its inception, the college
has been providing world-class facilities & infrastructure in education and learning.
The emphasis is on transformational leadership rather than directional leadership.
The aim is to establish new trends, introduce innovative training methodologies,
and thus guide students towards the road to success..
The College provides ample facilities for development of an integrated personality. It
has a fine library containing more than nineteen thousand books. The facilities for
playing tennis, basketball and cricket are available on the College Campus. The
Gymnasium, the Junior Common Room and the Ladies Common Room provide
facilities for gymnastics, badminton, table tennis and other indoor games.
ADMISSIONS:
The educational programs in the college emphasize the understanding of
fundamental principles and prepare an individual for a lifetime of learning and
professional growth. The College offers 6 undergraduate and 4 post graduate

INTERNET FACILITIES
We have 24 Mbps leased line throughout the campus with extension lines to
Hostel and Library; optical fibre connectivity and Wi-Fi Technology and Most
sophisticatedly design computer labs with 750 computers on LAN and WAN.

Library:
Library and Reading Room facility is available for the benefit of staff and students of the college.
Well referenced libraries with over 19,000 Volumes & National & International journals, several
technical and non magazines, Kannada, English and Malayalam newspapers and monthly/
fortnightly magazines are also provided for the use of our staff & students to update their
knowledge. Book bank facility is available in our library for the use of our students.

PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES
Hindusthan Institute of Technology is setting up a placement office with a vision to
guide, train, inspire students who want to avail the opportunity to secure careers or
summer internship for their personal growth. The placement office consists of
Placement Advisory Team (PAT-HIT). This team is comprised of Mr. M.Vijay, as the
placement officer along with senior faculty members from all streams in HIT, and
student coordinators. This is to ensure every student has necessary skills needed
for his/her career development for his job search.
The PAT-HIT has recognized the growing need for English language for current
trends in the job market training. The training for Business English is initiated from
the beginning stage of the course with the assistance of faculty members from
different departments and consultants. An English language lab is available in the
campus to give opportunity for willing students to sharpen their English language
skills. The leadership, team work, invidual initiative and professional ethics are part
of Hindusthan Institute of Technology's campus life and culture. Students are
prepared for life-long learning process, which is essential in present work culture.
The students area of interest is identified and their skills are empowered through in
plant training, campus-industry activities which finally result in campus placement.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION
ENGINEERING
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the
year 2007 with an apparition to develop centre of excellence in the wide area of
Electronics and Communication Engineering field and to promote innovative
research and development. The department has well equipped laboratories with
latest simulation softwares and eminent faculty members with good academic
records.Department of ECE aspires to be renowned as a quality branch for
education that understands the market better than any other institution. We strive
to apply that understanding to our programs and teaching, preparing ECE
department and its graduates to exceed employer expectations, transform
communities, and change lives by believing that every person can achieve his or
her dream. ECE department of Hindusthan Institute of Technology prepares citizens
and organizations to excel in the knowledge-driven environment of the 21st century.
Our department conducted DRDO Sponsored One Day National Level Workshop
on FPGA BASED SYSTEM DESIGN ON 10th October 2012

Achievements in Sports & Games:
The College is keen on developing sports & Games for benefit of the students.
Students are encouraged to take active participation to develop healthy body, with
sound mind. Participation in Sports & Games develop Team Spirit and it also
improves the outlook of the individual. It also allow the participation to realize the
value of healthy competition, co-operative relationship, team work and accepting
the superiority of others with grace while striving for personal excellence. Traditional
sports is always a part of college programmes.
Hindusthan sports facilities include a standard 400-metre track ground for athletics,
various outdoor and indoor games and Multi GYM Facility.
Our student S.Mangeshkar won III prize in STATELEVEL SENIOR MEN BOXING held
on 12-01-2014 at HINDUSTHAN COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE
