Radiography can be used to inspect welds, with the method to be agreed upon between the purchaser and contractor. X-radiography or gamma radiography must be carried out according to EN ISO 17636-1:2013. Fine grain film must be Class 5 in accordance with EN ISO 11699-1:2011, while ultra-fine grain film must be Class 3 as specified in the same standard. Image quality must be assessed using a wire IQI per EN ISO 19232-1:2013.

3 Radiography
X-radiography or gamma radiography may be used, the method being agreed
between the purchaser and the contractor/sub-contractor.
Radiography shall be carried out to EN ISO 17636-1:2013(68).
Fine grain high contrast direct type film specified in the above Standards shall be
taken to be EN ISO 11699-1:2011(69) Class 5.
Ultra-fine grain high contrast direct type film specified in the above Standards
shall be taken to be EN ISO 11699-1:2011 Class 3.
The sensitivity shall be assessed using a wire type IQI in accordance with
EN ISO 19232-1:2013(70).
