Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS
Activity and how you will introduce the SRS Activity: Teacher will begin
lesson by overviewing simple >,<, and = situations with one and two
digit numbers. The teacher will utilize the ActivBoard to have students
come up to the front of the classsroom and write what they think the
answer is. Teacher will then introduce these same symbols, used to
represent greater than, less than, and equal, with three-digit numbers.
Students will get in groups and develop their own set of questions with
three-digit numbers for the teacher to put on the ActivBoard. After the
teacher puts up the questions, the students will continue the activity of
coming up to the board to write their answers.

Identification of students:
Students will log-in so their individual scores will be available to you after the
session
SRS Activity will be anonymous
Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS Activity (For example:
What will students do? What will teacher do? What materials are needed? How
long will the SRS activity take?):
After the students write their answers on the board, the teacher will pull up the
Quizlet set on the ActivBoard. Teacher will practice a couple of these with the
class to indicate how to complete the task. Students will be required to log in to
their account that was to be created at the beginning of the school year,

complete the Quizlet set for homework, and submit to the teacher for assessing.
The following day, the teacher will determine whether or not there should be
more review on the topic.
Extension: Have students create their own Quizlet set with problems, and have
the class participate in solving them.

Longer open-ended response
Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students:
564___ 554
Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions? :
Yes
No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)
Immediate Corrective Feedback:
Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display the
correct response to the class after the SRS activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? There will be pre-selected answers to all of the questions on the
Quizlet set, and they are given in the set. Therefore, the students will not need to
be given the answers after the SRS activity because they are given throughout
the activity. If students request that we go over some of the questions or if the
teacher sees that there were a number of incorrect answers on the activity, then
the teacher will proceed with reviewing the content.
Use of Data: What data will be collected as a result of this activity. How will it be
used and by whom? (For example: Will information collected from this activity be
used to award a grade? Will the individual information collected be shared with
students and/or parents to help them monitor individual progress? Will you
discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the whole class to help them learn?
Will you use data to differentiate instruction for students? If so, describe how. )
The information/data collected from this activity will be used as a completion
grade, and to assess how the students are performing on the subject. The
information will automatically be shown to students once it is completed online,
and parents may have access to this information as well considering the activity
is online and shows immediate results. The teacher will discuss the aggregate
data with the class to allow them to see where they stand on the subject, and if it
needs to be revisited. The data will be used to differentiate for students with
which to see what students are struggling and who are excelling. Students who
are struggling may be grouped accordingly with a student who is mastering the
subject.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity:
After the students complete their homework on Quizlet, the teacher will be able to
assess how each student did in the class by logging onto his/her Quizlet account.
Once the teacher assesses how the students performed on the activity, he/she
will determine whether the topic needs to be revisited the next class period.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What
2

are you trying that you have not tried before? What do you hope to learn from
this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn? You must design
something that will help you learn something new! Honor System!)
I am attempting to use Quizlet as a means of a formal assessment to determine
where my students are in relation to the topic. I hope to learn that the students
enjoy using Quizlet and I can utilize this type of student response tool more often
to engage students in and outside the classroom. I hope it will help the students
learn by providing them with drill and practice-type questions and answers to help
them rememeber and understand basic information such as math facts or
vocabulary words.
