Class : Anticoagulants, Antiplatelets & Fibrinolytics (Thrombolytics)
Indication: For the reduction of atherosclerotic events (MI, stroke &
vascular death) in patients w/ atherosclerosis documented by recent stroke, MI or established peripheral arterial disease. For the treatment of patients suffering from non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q wave MI), including patients undergoing a stent placement following percutaneous coronary intervention in combination w/ ASA in medically-treated patients eligible for thrombolytic therapy.
May be taken with or without food
Contraindication: Severe liver impairment. Peptic ulcer & intracranial
hemorrhage. Lactation. Patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance. lapp-lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption
Special Precaution: Patients who may be at risk of increased bleeding from
trauma, surgery or other pathological conditions. Patients w/ moderate hepatic disease who may have bleeding diatheses. Pregnancy. AR: GI bleeding, purpura, bruising, hematoma, epistaxis, hematuria, ocular hemorrhage, intracranial bleeding, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, gastritis & constipation, rash, pruritus.
