The document discusses Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) which capture kinetic energy lost during braking and store it to be used to boost acceleration. KERS uses a flywheel to store up to 150 watt hours of energy from 8 seconds of braking, equal to charging 25 iPhones. This stored energy can then be used instantly to supplement the engine and provide cars with an extra 80hp of power. KERS provides more efficient and eco-friendly operation than hybrid systems, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. It is presented as a technology that is beneficial for both present and future applications due to its low cost, high customizability, and environmental friendliness.

Kinetic Energy Recovery System

ABSTRACT
Today ,the most
important aspect
on which research
is going on is How
to make already
discovered thing
more and more
efficient such that
it can give more
and more output
with same or less
amount of input.
This input is
generally given in
the form of
energy.
Following to this
KERS is an
important
innovation
because we
recover that heat
energy which
merely goes in the
heat form to
atmosphere.
By equipping it in
cars we can get a
better resource
utilization and
make our cars
more environment
friendly.

INTRODUCTION
A kinetic energy recovery system
(often known simply as KERS) is
an automotive system for
recovering a moving vehicle's
kinetic energy under braking.
A mechanical kinetic energy
recovery system is smaller and
lighter than a petrol-electric hybrid
system, and in real-world
conditions it hacks back fuel
consumption by a similar
percentage to a hybrid. And
without troubling the engineers too
much, you can add an F1-style
boost function, which gives you a
big lump of torque on tap if you
need to overtake. Or do big,
smoky burnouts. In this way it
becomes a useful , efficient ,
eco-friendly and economic than
other instant acceleration
producing equipments.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

So, how does it work? Kinetic energy
that youd ordinarily lose to heat while
braking is sent to a flywheel, which
can capture 150 watt hours in around
eight seconds of gentle braking.
Thats the same amount of energy
youd need to charge 25 new
iPhones .
Once its been recovered, it can be
stored for about half an hour or used
immediately, either as a supplement to
the engine, or in one great big lump.
Equipping cars with a KERS gives
them 80hp instantly
And all this thrust comes from a little
box of gears and clutches that weighs
60kg, requires virtually no
maintenance, and will last for what the
company claim is the realistic life of
the car.

CONCLUSIONS
Its a Technology for
Present and future
because its
environment friendly
,has low production
cost and highly
customizable.
Adaptation of a KERS
means reducing Fuel
consumption and CO2
Emission.
