February 2016
Well, its now February. I hope everyone made it through the snow storm
safe and sound.
Just a reminder - we will be having our election of officers at the second meeting of this month. At this time I would like to thank everyone for letting me and all the great officers have the privilege of serving our membership
and tending to their duties at our Great Lodge. Let's also remember there are a
lot functions this month: the BIG Game, Valentines Dinner, the "MS" fund
raiser Vicky and Chucks run ( lets help make this a great success .) We all
know someone who has a family member who has MS along with some of our
members who suffer from this awful disease. Plus I would like to invite everyone and anyone to the ER's party on March 26th. This will be a bull roast type
of affair. We will have some brief ceremonies and then some real Elks celebration: dancing and singing and just a lot of fun with a lot of good people. Just a
great time!
Please check the March bulletin for details. Also let's remember now
would be a good time to sponsor a new member and let's never forget our Veterans and Vets.

Soon, our Lodge Drug Awareness Committee will be distributing our annual Grand Lodge Drug
Awareness Program Bookmarks (similar to the one on the bottom of this Page), to all Schools in Eastern
Baltimore County. This program will place [1,000] Drug Awareness Program (DAP) Bookmarks into
each of [42] Elementary Schools and [11] Middle Schools on the East side of Baltimore County. This is
part of our Annual Plan for further education to our youth, with an Anti-Drug & Alcohol Awareness message. We will need help delivering these Bookmarks, so if anyone is available to help please send me an
Email at [email protected] or call my cell: (443) 610.0935, with your availability. These schools are
located in the following Communities;
EAST COMMUNITIES- Essex, Rosedale, Back River, Golden Ring , Bowleys Qtrs., Overlea, Middle River, Chase, Seneca,
Oliver Beach
SOUTH EAST COMMUNITIES Dundalk, Edgemere, Eastpoint, Sparrows Point Colgate, Sollers Point
NORTH EAST COMMUNITIES- Perry Hall, Nottingham, Parkville, White Marsh, Carney, Kingsville, Fullerton, Putty
There is a need for [5] Members to help within these locations to help in delivering these Bookmarks, as I
will route these Communities into five areas to help conserve time and gas. Also, in these five areas will
include [7] Public Libraries that will receive [1,500] DAP Bookmarks. The total amount of Bookmarks
that will be distributed, when combining the schools and the public libraries will be [60,000]. This program
will reach over [60,000] homes in Eastern Baltimore County on behalf of our Lodge and the Elks Drug
Awareness Program. We need your help though, so send me an Email and give a few hours helping to deliver these Bookmarks.
Thank You to any Member that can assist with the distribution of these Bookmarks and our commitment
in continuing the message of our DAP; a Drug Free Life for our Youth!!
