Chromite
A member of The Spinel Group, Chromite is an iron chromium oxide. Crystal of
chromite are uncommon, and are usuallyeither massive as lenses and tabular
bodies, or disseminated as granules and streaks. It is dark brown to black and can
contain some magnesium and alumunium. Chromite is most commonly found as
an accessory mineral in ultramafic igneous rocks, or concentrated occurs as
sedimentary.
