Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year at Juarez-Lincoln Elementary
School. Our school is dedicated to enable all students to become life long learners, to build communication skills, solve real world problems and build reading fluency. In second grade your child will gain more independence and begin to take on more responsibilities. We are pleased to inform you that you have been assign to room 702 for second grade. I would like to take an opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Melissa Ruiz; I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and I am one of six children in my family. I graduated with a Bachelor degree in Liberal Studies at San Diego State University in August 2013 and got my credential in June 2016 at San Diego State University. I am honored to be your child's second grade teacher. I believe each child has the potential to do great things. I believe in building a child's self-esteem by recognizing their strength and using it to help them grow in reading fluency and writing I look forward to seeing your child learn and grow in the days ahead. I believe communication is the key to a great teacher-parent relationship. I will be communicating with you throughout the school year by email, phone calls, notes sent home, and parent- teacher conferences if you have any questions or concerns I can be reached at the school phone (619) 690-9222 extension #1325 before and after school from 745-810am or 315-4:00pm or you can email me at [email protected]. Being prepared for school is a high priority. To help students prepare for school, I suggest that every student brings the following items to class by Friday June 27, 2016. 3 Ring Binder with Dividers Glue stick Pack of crayons A notebook Extra pencils and line paper (optional) The family is an important part of the classroom. Please take a moment to fill out the questionnaire on the next page and have the child bring it with them on the first day of school or by Friday June 27. We appreciate your willingness to help make this coming school year a successful one! Once again, welcome! I look forward to meeting you and your child at the Juarez-Lincoln Open House on Monday, July 23, 2016 from 4:00-5:00 P.M. This will give your child an opportunity to become familiar with our school and classroom. He/she can find their desk ready for them and meet the teacher.
